CES Caters for Growth With New Software
The catering equipment industry is both competitive and male dominated, which makes Anna McNamara’s award as Barclays Local Female in Business even more impressive than if she worked in another more likely area for a woman entrepreneur.
Anna’s brother Dominic started Caterquip in 1995 in Peterborough in order to sell second hand cookers refrigerators and boilers to industrial users. Anna who had a sales & marketing background joined him in 1998 and began to ship new equipment as well as used and later created Catering Equipment Solutions to do this.
Selling to general businesses, restaurants, golf clubs, leisure centres, hotels and retail outlets, she marketed her products through personal sales, her own direct sales people, trade shows, advertising and telesales; in the process she developed
considerable personal expertise; she feels: - “If a customer wants to buy a box cheaply there are other suppliers available, however, we supply technical strength with good advice and help as well as staying competitive – we are excellent partners”
